This event is the annual Virginia AmeriCorps Program Training. This will be different from the June orientation, and we’re looking forward to all AmeriCorps State programs being represented. The training will focus heavily on performance planning and measurement, collaboration among programs, and individual and group technical assistance. You’ll find on the draft agenda that the first day is generally dedicated to performance measurement; the second day focuses on technical assistance and program management; and the third day is heavily oriented to program collaboration.
July 18-20, 2016
This is mandatory for Virginia’s AmeriCorps State Program Directors, and highly recommended for (a) financial managers handling AmeriCorps funding and budgets, (b) site supervisors dealing with member supervision and timesheets, and/or data collection and verification, (c) executive directors, and (d) partner site staff. We are ‘holding’ two spaces for each organization in our portfolio, but strongly suggest that it may be appropriate for additional folks to attend. Please complete the registration form ASAP, as we will offer unused spaces to other national service programs in Virginia, and to the general public.
Richmond Airport Hotel, 5501 Eubank Road, Sandston, VA 23150-1909
This training will utilize a range of presentation styles including group and individual technical assistance, peer presentations and discussions, lectures and demonstrations.
There is no registration fee for national service program staff for this event. Information is forthcoming about OVCS underwriting a portion of attendance costs for those who will need to be away from home overnight. Note that funds that you have in your 16-17 program year budget to cover staff training and travel can be used to cover these reasonable travel costs. These costs will be eligible for reimbursement once your organization has received its contract from us. If for some reason your program does not receive AmeriCorps funding, these costs will not be reimbursable.
Registrations will be email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We encourage participation by those listed in the “WHO” section, above. If you plan to bring more than 3-4 people and we reach capacity, we may ask you to reduce the number of attendees from your organization.
We look forward to providing additional information very soon, and look forward to seeing you in July. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Gay Plungas at 804-726-7653, email@example.com.
