What could AmeriCorps do for your organization? Apply for 2017-18 AmeriCorps Formula Funding and find out! Since 1994, 1 million AmeriCorps members have contributed more than 1.4 billion hours in service across America while tackling pressing problems and mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve. With funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service administered by the Virginia Office on Volunteerism and Community Services, members dedicate a year of their life to intensive community service in exchange for a small living stipend and an education award.
AmeriCorps programs address critical community needs in key focus areas including education, disaster services, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. Sample activities include tutoring and mentoring youth, response to local disasters, restoring natural habitats, and job training/placement. AmeriCorps members also mobilize community volunteers and strengthen the capacity of the organizations where they serve.
2017-18 Virginia AmeriCorps Formula Funding is now being accepted through eGrants (https://egrants.cns.gov). Please use Application ID 17AC192095, under Grant # 16AFHVA001.
