Volunteers Honored in Southwest Virginia

The United Way of Southwest Virginia's 2018 Impact Awards were held March 15, 2018,  in Abingdon. United Way recognized companies, community groups, and individuals who were a part of the fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Southwest Virginia. The event was sponsored by Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union. The winners are as follows:

  • 2017 Corporate Partners: Food City, Universal Fibers, Utility Trailer
  • President’s Volunteer Service Award Winners: 
    • Bronze: Abbigale Duncan, Lauren Powell, Makayla Haynes, Laura Horton, Elly Jackson, Carrie Sproles, Anna Thompson, Danny Ward, and Monty Vernon
    • Silver: Chloe Sutherland, Aleia Warren, and Luke Icenhour
    • Gold: Austin Copley, and Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Southwest Virginia Region
