Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Virginia Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Awards. The nomination period ends at 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Honors will be presented in the following categories:
- Faith-Based Organization
- Educational Institution
- Community Organization
- Small Business
“The nine selected award winners represent the important work of the more than 2 million Virginians who made a difference in the lives of others by volunteering last year,” said Gail Harris, director of the Virginia Department of Social Services. Division on Community and Volunteer Services. Virginians contribute nearly 275 million volunteer hours annually, equaling $6 billion of service to the Commonwealth.
