National Service Awards

AmeriCorps and Senior Corps members serving in Virginia who have performed outstanding service to their communities are honored annually at the Virginia Volunteerism and Service Conference. The first annual Virginia National Service Awards were presented in May 2017 at the Volunteerism Conference and honored five amazing individuals who were nominated by their organization's program directors/sponsors.

The 2018 Awards will be presented in the following categories:

Current National Service Member Nominees

Nominating organizations (for the categories of AmeriCorps State, AmeriCorps VISTA, Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, or and RSVP) MUST be sponsor organizations for the programs and not individual service sites. Please refer to the following listing:

National Service Alum Nominees

Nominees for this award can have served as a National Service member anywhere in the U.S. and do not have to have served within the Commonwealth. The nominees, however, must currently reside in Virginia. Nominators may be any organization who has served as a previous sponsoring organization or represents the nominee's current employer.

These awards are presented by the Virginia Service Foundation and the Governor's Advisory Board on Service and Volunteerism. The winners will be recognized at a special awards luncheon at the Virginia Volunteerism and Service Conference in Richmond, May 21, 2018.

Please carefully review the  Guidelines and Questions before completing the nomination form. Nominations for the Virginia National Service Awards are now open! ATTENTION! The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, February 23, 2018!
