In this session, members will develope an ‘elevator pitch’—a way to clearly and concisely explain their AmeriCorps experience. Members will learn key elements of an elevator pitch and how to modify it for different audiences and settings (family and friends, job recruiters, networking events, etc.) Members will be given time to brainstorm and develop their elevator pitch, then placed into breakout rooms to practice their elevator pitches with peers.

This includes changes that have expanded the loan forgiveness opportunity for public servants, along with the existing benefits for AmeriCorps service. As Virginians, you have access to new online resources at virginiastudentloanhelp.org , as well as the services of an advocate who can help you with your individual situation. Come learn more about resources that can help you with your student loans.

Michelle will also address how to weave your AmeriCorps experience, skills, and training into your resume. You'll be armed with the lates job market statistics, learn how much has changed since the pandemic and what to do about it.
