Are you an organization looking for grants that support AmeriCorps members in meeting critical needs in the community?

AmeriCorps State programs operate through the Virginia Service Commission (VSC). VSC accepts applications from faith-based organizations, community organizations, higher education institutions, and public agencies. Grants assist these groups in recruiting, training and placing AmeriCorps members to meet critical community needs in Education, Economic Opportunity, Veterans and Military Families, Healthy Futures, the Environment, and Disaster Services.

Eligible applicants design AmeriCorps programs that engage members in meaningful direct service activities to meet critical community needs. Members may serve full or part-time positions for a specific number of weeks, months, or up to one year at a time. Sample activities include tutoring and mentoring youth, improving and protecting public green spaces, building homes, and promoting community health and wellness. AmeriCorps members also mobilize community volunteers and strengthen the capacity of the organizations they serve.
