Tiny Teaches, Networking Activity
Sasha Bronder, AmeriCorps VISTA Leader, Virginia Service Commission

Instructions for Members
Do you have a wake-up ritual that helps prepare you for the day ahead? What about a cheap and easy recipe for that last week of the month when you’re running low on time and money? Do you have tips on connecting with friends virtually, managing a busy inbox, or translating your service for people unfamiliar with AmeriCorps? A great app for budgeting, or a resource library you love? How do you make a difference for your community while caring for your own well-being too?

Tiny Teaches is a moment for each of us to be intentional about reflecting on the little strategies that keep us going, and to share those ‘life "hacks’ with your fellow AmeriCorps members. Please come to this session prepared to spend 1-3 minutes teaching a small group about one resource, activity, or action that is helping you to thrive—personally or professionally.

11:10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Living out the AmeriCorps Pledge without Burning Out
Sharon Tewksbury-Bloom, Do Good, Be Good
This workshop will address the commitment that all members make when they pledge to persevere through adversity during their year of service and beyond. The commitment to persevere, seek common ground, and take action are key to service and to the meaningful difficult work we all strive to do. So how do we keep doing what matters and take care of ourselves at the same time? We'll look at the practical side of reducing stress day to day and keeping burnout at bay.
